dollars will be granted to counties, cities, and towns for improvements to sewage treatment facilities. By making this sum available it will be possible to obtain an additional 38 million dollars from Federal funds. In 1970 a total of 47 million dollars was available for the localities for this purpose and based on the amounts contemplated for the next 4 years, it will mean that more than 279 million dollars will have been made available to localities to improve these facilities by 1975. The surplus funds were also appropriated for additional law enforcement officers to be used in the drug abuse and control programs and to help the localities in their welfare payments. This Special Session of the General Assembly was not only interesting and exciting but productive and its primary purposes were accomplished.
