Miss Frances Downing Wood became the bride of Donald Joseph Conover, Jr. on Saturday, March 6, 1971 in Camilla, Georgia. Miss Wood is the daughter of Mrs. F.' Downing Wood of Washington, Virginia and the late Mr. Wood. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Conover of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
The wedding took place at four o’clock in the afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hall, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. The Reverend Edgar Davis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Camilla, performed the double-ring ceremony.
The house was decorated with spring flowers, greenery and white candles.
The bride wore a navy and white street length dress and carried a prayerbook topped with white carnations. Mrs. Paul Smith of Albany, Georgia was matron of honor for her sister and Miss Barbee Hall, her niece, was maid of honor.
Leroy Hall was best man for the bridegroom and other attendants were Paul Smith and George Hall.
Mrs. Quenton McCoy of Washington, Virginia, sister of the bride, served punch at the reception following the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Conover will make their home in Camilla, Georgia.
