Amissville Rescue Squad responded to the accident scene and transported Christopher to Fauquier Hospital, Warren ton for emergency aid and then took him to Fairfax Hospital where he remains a patient. He sustained injuries of his lungs, ribs and kidney but is recuperating satisfactorily.

A motorist struck and killed a deer October 27 on Route 522 two miles south of Flint Hill. Russell I Hockensmith of Winchester, driving a 67 Chevrolet was not injured in the accident but damage to his vehicle was set at $250, according to Trooper W. A. Bun tin.

The following day, last Thursday, at 3:50 p.m. in Sperryville at the intersection of Routes 522 and 211 a rear end collision occurred. Stephen Paul Collier of Arlington operating a 63 Chevrolet stopped in the traffic lane to allow a car in front of him make a left turn. He was struck from behind by a 65 Chevrolet operated by Miss Martha Nelle Nicks of Corpus Christi, Texas. Damage to the Collier car was estimated at $150 and to the Nicks vehicle at $200, said Trooper Bun tin.

A public supper benefiting the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department is set for Saturday evening, November 6 at the fire hall. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and continues through 9 p.m. The menu will feature old Virginia ham and turkey with the trimmin’s. Dinner is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.
