The long weekend because of teachers’ meetings brought not only Halloween but a great Halloween Dance. The dance sponsored by the F.H.A. Friday night was a big success! Frank Hitt won the prize for the best costume and Elaine Cameron won the door prize, an album. The varsity cheerleaders met Monday to discuss problems and money! Later they met with Mr. Wingfield to discuss money and problems! Monday was the first day of tryouts for the big talent show the 19th. Students need only to give a sample of their acts, so even if it’s not complete, come on and try out anyhow. A word of gratitude is due to our great track team. They have made a fine showing this season with a 4 and 1 record. The team will.be traveling to Blacksburg, Va. Saturday, Nov. 6, for an invitational meet. This will be a boost to our reputation as well as a chance to win some more fantastic meets. Coach Ellis is hard at work with a conditioning program for prospective basketball players.
