Virginia Telephone & Telegraph Company will spend $14,400,000 for construction and continued equipment modernization during 1972 according to D.H. Reid, Vice President and Division Manager. Mr. Reid stated that this record amount for Virginia Telephone & Telegraph exceeds the previous record by $1,600,000, which was achieved in 1971.

Mr. Reid said that over 1.3 million of the 14.4 million budget allocated by the Central aTelephone & Utilities Corporation board of directors will be spent in the Northern Virginia District.
