Mrs. Hand was born near Hume, Va. on October 4, 1887, a daughter of the late Ruth Alexander and Charles Clinton Eastham.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Horgas of Portsmouth, Mrs. Johnnie Gibson of Alexandria and Miss Jane Eastham Hand of University Park, Md. and three grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ada Bowersett Hall of Salt Lake City, Utah, Miss Mamie Eastham of Manassas and Mrs. Emma Coppage of Sandston and a sister-inlaw Mrs. Warren F. Eastham of Shady Side, Md.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper.
Flowers were omitted. It was suggested that friends make a contribution to the Rappahannock Library in her memory. □
