David Allen Nichols of Sperryville, operating a 67 Chevrolet, was involved in a crash Saturday on Route 522 east of Sperryville. Nichols lost control of the vehicle, went off the left of the highway and down the ditch in front of the cemetery, veered across the road and rolled over into the field at Mt. Vernon Farm. Damage to the car was estimated at $900 and he was cited for reckless driving by Trooper R.A. Baines.
Other traffic mishaps reported by Trooper Baines included one in which three motorcycles and a car were involved and one on a parking lot. Both occurred July 1. Steve D. Esheman of Arlington in a 71 Ford station wagon backed into a 62 Ford owned by H. H. Aylor of Sperryville on the parking lot at Village Inn, Sperryville. There were no injuries or charges.
