A large vote turned out in Rappahannock as well as the state and both amendments passed here. Direc- , tors for the Culpeper Soil \ and Water Conservation District were elected. H.S. Barksdale and H. W. Manwaring were named to these places. Both were on the ballot and there was no competition.

In the first hour of the S election in Rappahannock ! County judges refused to I allow some teen-aged vot- j ers to vote in the Senator- I ial and Congressional ra.c- i es, but the error was corrected.
Voting requirements had been misinterpreted by J. G. Carney, chairman of the Rappahannock electoral board who had in turn misinformed the judges. Therefore, for a short while, teen-agers were allowed to vote only in the presidential race.
