Davis explained that the money from the Fuller sale is to go into a trust fund to be used for the benefit of young users of the Rappahannock Library. He said the executors of the Fuller estate may do what they wish with the painting.
“It could be hung in the library,” he said, “but the library doesn’t want it because of the security problem.”
DAVIS SAID the painting now is in a Washington, D.C. gallery and will probably remain there until a final decision is made for its future. It is likely that it will be sold.
