Walker Stone, 68, died Sunday, March 18 at his home Hawthorn Farm near Woodville.
Mr. Stone had spent 42 years with Scripps-Howard Foundation and at the time of his retirement was editor-in-chief of ScrippsHoward New'spajiers. He was a native of Okemah, Okla., and a graduate of Olkahoma State University.
As a reporter and editorial writer he interviewed many heads of state including Nikita S. Khrushchev of Russia and India’s Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He had interviewed every chief of state of the Philippines since it became a republic, visited China in pre-Communist day aand traveled extensively in Russia.
Since retirement, he had spent much of his time developing his 700-acre farm
