Trackers feted
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL cross country and track team and several outstanding members of the girls track group were feted at a steak dinner Friday evening at David Leper’s Steak House in Culpeper. The dinner was given for this group by an interested Rappahannock citizen who wished to remain unidentified.
Accompanying the young people were school principal Dennis Wingfield and Mrs. Wingfield, coach John Toth and Mrs. Toth, Miss Ann Spieker, girls coach and Mrs. Sarah Latham. . Following the dinner, ace track runner Charlie Thomas was presented a gift from his fellow crosscountry group—a handsome clock radio. This, they allowed, would help to keep him on the run next year when he begins his studies and furthers, his track career at Pensacola Junior College in Florida.
