Presidential Physical Fitness awards have been distributed at Rappahannock County Elementary School after conclusive testing in physical ability. Standards set by the Presidential Council on Physical Fitness have been met or surpassed by those receiving awards. Categories included in the program were standing broad jump, pull-ups, sit-ups, shuttle run, 50 yard dash, softball throw and 600 yard walk-run. Three students have qualified for two years straight and are Perry Breeden, Laura Pendleton and Roger Smoot.
