Earns Degree
A record graduating class of 825 received degrees recently at Madison College in Harrisonburg. Among them was Miss Janet Edna Yates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Yates of Sperryville who received a BS degree in education. About 4,000 attended the college’s 64th commencement. The graduation speaker was Virginia Attorney Gen. Andrew P. Miller. There were 786 bachelor’s degrees awarded, including 651 Bachelors of Science and 135 Bachelors of Arts. In addition, 39 graduate degrees were awarded: 10 Masters of Arts; 25 Masters of Science; and four Masters of Business Administration.
