Music festival
THE 23rd ANNUAL National Championship Country Music Contest, which is sponsored by the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees, will be held at Lake Whippoorwill on Saturday, August 4, and Sunday August 5. Lake Whippoorwill is located just off Route 29-211 north of Warrenton. Special guest stars will be Del Reeves on Saturday night and Grandpa Jones on Sunday. The String Dusters will also be present as they were in past years. Buddy Spiker is the head judge and guest star for the two day event. There are ten big categories including $2,500 in prize money. Refreshments will also be available on the grounds. Everyone is invited to either listen or play with camping in the rough—camper parking at $5.
The championship begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, the fourth of August and concludes its session on Sunday, which will open at 1 p.m. □
