The marriage of Miss Jean Carter Moffett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Francis Moffett, Jr., ^ of Washington, Va., to Lt. (jg) David Craig Welling, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Gene Welling of Rockville, Md., was solemnized Saturday afternoon, June 16, in Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington.
The bride is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Edward Buxton of Springfield and of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Francis Moffett of Washington, Va.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Hargett of Centreville, Md., before an altar of white carnations and baby’s breath, palms and lighted candleabra. The „ church was decorated with baskets of white snapdragons, baby’s breath and carnations.
Miss Laura Blevins of Luray presented an organ program of wedding music, including preludes by J. S. Bach and Mendlessohn, the Navy hymn, “Eternal Father Strong to Save,” with the processional from the “Organ Suite” by John Stanley. The recessional was Purcell’s “TrumpetTune.”
