STATE Librarian Donald R. Haynes will discuss the availability of public library service in Planning District IX in an open meeting Thursday, October 11 at 2:30 p.m., at the Second National Bank Building in Culpeper.
The meeting, sponsored by the Virginia State Library and die Trustee Section of the Virginia Library Association, is among a series of statewide meetings designed to promote public awareness and community involvement in local library development.
Mrs. Virginius R. Shackelford, Jr., a member of The State Library Board, will preside at the meeting. Other speakers include Colonel B.B. Bell, a member of the Culpeper Library Board and Raymond E. Williams, Public Library Consultant, Virginia State Library. Also on the program is Mrs. Roger L. Oberndorf, Chairman of the Trustee Section of the Virginia Library Association and the Virginia Beach Library Board.
