DURING CUBHUNTING this past Thursday, October 4, the Rappahannock Hunt foxhound pack ran a bear cub. How about that for a switch in quarry? Hounds were taken out past the Old Fletcher’s Mill and across Route 522 into the big valley between Fielding and Poortown mountains. They worked southwest over Lane’s pastures toward Alan Stokes’orchard. Once in the orchard, hounds picked up a track which they pursued in a most bewildered and confusing fashion. One hunter commented, “TheyVe on again, off again.”
