WARM, sunny days and crisp nights is the prescription for brilliant fall colors, and already trees along the Blue Ridge in Shenandoah National Park are turning due to lower temperatures and shorter days.
Reds of the dogwood, red oak, sassafras, Virginia creeper, and black gum are evident in the higher elevations, and the yellows of the hickories are beginning to appear. Color is scattered but is good near Sky land.
