Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Raney of Flint Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Mauri Cole, to William Luther Payne Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Payne, Locust Shade, Amissville. Miss Raney is a 1973 graduate of Rappahannock County High School and is presently a student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Blacksburg.
Mr. Payne is a 1971 graduate of the same high school and fattended Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1971-72. He is a graduate of the National Academy of Broadcasting in Washington, D. C. and is employed with radio station WRAA in Luray.
