Cadet John M. Baumgardner, of Washington, is among more than 200 candidates for graduation at the Virginia Military Institute where commencement exercises will take place on Friday, May 10. Baumgardner is scheduled to receive a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and a reserve commission in the U.S. Army. A dean’s list student, he is a member of VMI’s student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Baumgardner, of Route 1, Washington, and was graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School before entering the Institute.
