THE BOY’S Track Team competed in the District Meet at Bridgewater College Friday. Our team placed third out of ten sch' ools. The top five scores were William Monroe 62; Montevideo 57; Rappahannock 43; Central 35; and Stonewall Jackson 22.
We placed first in the Mile Run, 440, and two mile; second with our Mile Relay Team, 100 yard dash, and two mile; third in the 440, long jump, and two mile; fourth in the 880 and fifth in the Triple Jump.
The team will go to the Regional Meet at Clover Hill on Saturday. Good luck guys!
THE GIRL’S District meet was held Wednesday at Stonewall Jackson. Two district and six school records were broken.
Central was the winning team with 59 points. Stonewall Jackson had 50 1/2; Rappahannock 35; Strasburg 26 1/2; Elkton 14; and Luray 7.
Margaret Jett was first in the shot put, setting a new district and school record of 35’10”. Maureen Day was first in the high jump with 4’11” (district record) and second in the long jump with 16’2”.
