Woodville driving a 68 Oldsmobile on January 2, at 5:10 a.m. struck and killed a horse on Route 522. The animal was owned by William Lewis Aylor of Sperryville. Hitt sustained glass cuts to his hand and face, said Trooper Buntin, who estimated damage to the car at $800, a total loss. Aylor valued the horse at $1500.
ON DECEMBER 21 in the early afternoon two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 729. Charles Rucker of Brightwood driving a 69 Ford truck belonging to William Pickett of Amissville and a 72 Ford Pinto operated by Victoria May Laing of Amissville were involved.
According to Trooper Buntin, the vehicles met on a hillcrest and the Laing car went off the right shoulder of the* road. She lost control and struck the left rear of the truck. There was no damage to the truck and the Pinto damage was set at $350. No injury resulted.u
