William J. Leake.
A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Horace Jones was held December 31 in the Assembly of God Church in Culpeper, with interment in Sperryville Cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Leake are three sons, Woodrow W. and Hilly R. Leake, both of Culpeper and Raymond C. Leake of Boston, Va.; five daughters. Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Spaulding Heights, Md., Mrs. Ruth Meade of Jeffersonton, Mrs. Shirley May of Culpeper, Mrs. Nora Hodges of Gibbstown, N.S., Canada and Mrs. Rhodie Jenkins of Mitchells; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Gideon Jenkins of Middleburg.D
Rufus Williams
Rufus Warren Williams, 54, of Chester Gap died December 26, 1974 in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. He was a carpenter employed at Fort Belvoir. He was born in Rappahannock County June 10, 1920, the son of the late Ernest and Nettie W. Williams.
He served with the Army during World War II and burial with military honors in the Williams Cemetery in Chester Gap followed funeral services in Chester Gap Baptist Mission, Monday, December 30. The Rev. Roy Mathena and the Rev. James Burke officiated.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel C. Williams; two sons, Clevie Williams of Flint Hill and Steve Williams of Front Royal; one grandson; four brothers, David A. Williams of Front Royal, Albert R., John W., and Sherman L. Williams, all of Chester Gap; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllss Morris and Mrs. Dorcas Kuser, both of Chester Gap.D
CHURCH SERVICE
Morning worship service will be held at Washington United Methodist Church at 11:15 Sunday, January 12. The Rev. M.P. Maples, pastor of the Rappahannock United Methodist Charge, will deliver the sermon.□
