NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

Notice is hereby given to the public that Central Telephone Company of Virginia on June 30, 1975, filed earnings and financial data for the 12 months ended May 31, 1975, as required by the rules governing Annual Review of the State Corporation Commission of Virginia. The Company simultaneously filed with the Commission a rider to its current tariffs to become effective August 1, 1975. The proposed tariff rider, if allowed to become effective, would result in a 5.65% surcharge on rates for local telephone service, excluding intrastate toll, WATS and coin telephone rates. A copy of the proposed tariff plus the material submitted by the Telephone Company in support of its proposed tariff may be seen during normal working hours at the office of the State Corporation Commission, Blanton Building, Richmond, Virginia, or at any Centel business office where bills are paid.

The Commission has suspended the effective date of the proposed surcharge until August 15, 1975, and prior to that date will issue an order giving its decision whether or not to further suspend the proposed surcharge tariff and establishing any further procedures for investigation and hearing on the Company’s need for rate relief.
