The Rappahannock Lions Club has announced that the annual Bland Music Scholarship contest will be held at the Rappahannock Elementary School on Sunday, February 20, at 3:30 p.m. Any boy or girl attending elementary, junior high or high school may be a contestant. Separate contests will be held for vocal and instrumental entries with identical awards for each division.
The contest is held in honor of James A. Bland, composer and singer, who wrote the song which became the Virginia State Anthem,
