Reporting on the ill: Walter H. Williams, Jr. returned home Sunday after a week’s stay in Warren Memorial Hospital where he underwent tests and Sam North entered die same hospital Wednesday. Lloyd Campbell has been on the sick list at home the last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt White of Front Royal visited Mrs. Hubert Gilkey, Jr. Sunday afternoon.
Seventh graders Kelly Gilkey, Cindy Williams, Gail Wines, Tammy North, also chaperon Mdybelle Gilkey, of Chester Gap, and Richard Burke, Jr. of Huntly were among the Rappahannock Elementary School students who made a weekend trip by bus to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Newport News.
Byron Alford, a student at the University of Virginia, left for Charlottesville Saturday after spending the holidays with his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. William Alford. Another Alford son, William, Jr., an intern in the Medical College of Virginia had an interesting experience enroute home from Richmond Friday. He left the college at 3 p.m., expecting to have dinner with his parents that evening. However, due to icy roads and low temperatures he and other travelers were forced to stop and were put up for the night in a store near Woodville. Williams arrived home after 10 a.m. Saturday and had to leave that afternoon for Richmond.
