THE possibility of implementing a land use tax in Rappahannock has been discussed by the Supervisors at several Board meetings. The major objection raised against such action has been where to find replacement revenues if dollars are lost from property taxes.
“We’re losing land,” agreed VPI extension agent Rapp Owings. He noted that three new subdivisions had been applied for in the county during the last three months. “The trend is continuing.. .But I don’t know the answer.” □
