Amissville Fire Company responded January 14 to a wreck on Route 211 east to assist with skidding mishaps in the sleet storm. On the 17th a malfunctioning furnace at the residence of I. L. Parrish near Viewtown required the assistance of this company. Amissville Company performed a public service deed to the D. G. Laing farm January 19 •'when water was hauled to the farm.
Amissville Rescue Squad was summoned to a wreck January 14 east of Amissville and to a sick call at Jeffersonton, but service was not used at either. January 17 Miss Phoebe Green was taken from her residence to Fauquier Hospital and the same day Mrs. C. C. Sanders was taken from the Franklin Williams home to Fauquier Hospital and later from Fauquier to Charlottesville.
This unit took Mrs. Otlie Nichols from the L. W. Story home January 19 to Fauquier Hospital. On the 20th, both Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Montgomery were taken from their home near Amissville to Fauquier Hospital. Beulah Settle was taken January 22 to Warren Memorial Hospital and the same day Chris Bawkey was taken from the Eddie Hackley home to Fauquier Hospital.Warrenton.
