February marks Scouting’s 67th Anniversary. In the Shenrapawa District, of which Rappahannock County is a part, there will be many kinds of projects and demonstrations.

The Scouting program in Rappahannock County, as a part of this celebration, will be as follows: On Monday, February 7, all Scouts and Cub Scouts are requested to wear their uniforms to school. The purpose of this is to make Scouting visible.

Saturday, February 12, will be a day for skills and demonstrations with the following troops participating: Amissville Troop 50, with Clarence Dodson as Scoutmaster; Troop 36 of Flint Hill with Paul Nichols Scoutmaster; Washington Troop 123, whose Scoutmaster; and Troop 143 of Castelton and Mt. Lebanon, with Gene Fisher, as Scoutmaster. The public is invited to see the demonstrations.

Scout Sunday will be February 13, when all Scouts should attend the church of their choice in uniform. Troops that are sponsored by a church are encouraged to attend their sponsoring church as a group.
