The funds were available on a matching basis. Castleton elected to use their grant-in-aid to purchase a new radio for one of their fire trucks. The new radio will improve communications enabling them to provide better fire protection to the communities they serve, said Jenkins.
Any fire company wishing to apply for these funds must submit an application to the Virginia Division of Forestry, Box 3758, Charlottesville, 22903; no later than March 1. Applications are available at the same office.□
