Scroggins
Edwin Scroggins Sr., 72, of Washington died February 1,1977, at his home. He was a farmer and orchardist. A native of Rappahannock, he was the son of the late. John and Henrietta Aylor Scroggins.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Settle Scroggins; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Woodard and Mrs. Cornie Cornell and one son, Edwin Scroggins, Jr., all of Washington; one grandson and two foster grandchildren. Also surviving is ,a sister, Mrs. Walter Grimsley of Hume; two brothers, John Scroggins and Charles G. Scroggins, both of Washington.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Washington Masonic Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Malcolm Maples.
Pallbearers will be Martin Orfila, Michael Orfila, Ernest Lillard, Thomas Walker, John Burke and Ned Settle.□
Miller
Mrs. Katherine Skinner Miller of Front Royal died February 1, 1977 in Warren Memorial Hospital. She was 85, the widow of Dr. Henry Miller. She was a native of South Hadley Falls, Mass, and a graduate of Mary Baldwin College, Staunton. Mrs. Miller spent many years in Virginia and in Washington, Va., the home of Dr. Miller.
A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Jennings Hobson will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Washington Masonic Cemetery. □
