Fireman Poling of the Amiss - ville Fire Department recently demonstrated advanced techniques of artificial resuscitation to teachers and students at Rappahannock County High School, with the assistance of a specially made rubberized human model.
Paul A. Poling has been president of the Amissville Fire Department for nine years and is presently concentrating on educating the public on new methods of artificial respiration in cases of respiratory paralysis caused by drowning, electric shock, poisoning, choking, gas or smoke inhalation and other instances of cessation of breathing by victims. Poling said, “These techniques are essential in order to get oxygen to the brain cells, which would deteriorate without resuscitation.”
