Montague that it was necessary to rely heavily on the recommendations of the adoption committees, “f’m most gratified that we do not find slang in the reading texts as we did several years ago,” she added.
As a spelling text, Carter said the committee for that subject recommended the adoption of the “Spell Correctly” program by Silver Burdett. Two texts, ZanerBlosser for grades kindergarten through fourth, and Noble and Noble for grades five through seven, were recommended by the writing textbook adoption committee, said Carter.
