Pupils visit D.C.
Wakefield Country Day School’s first, second, third, and fourth grade students attended a presentation of “The Magic Flute,’’ a comic tale based on the libretto of Mozart’s opera, performed by the Nicolo Marionettes at the Smithsonian Puppet Theatre in Washington, D.C., on Friday, April 15. After the puppet show, the students spent the afternoon at the Washington National Zoo.
Wakefield’s upper level students attended the Friday night performance of “The School for Wives’’ presented by the University of Virginia players at the Wayside Theatre in Middletown. This play by Moliere is of special interest to the Wakefield students who very recently presented “The Bourgeois Gentleman’’ by the same 17th Century French dramatist. □
