Mrs. Quaintance stated that she was also opposed to all writing books. “I don’t think we nebd them. It’s monotonous to learn.”

Montague responded that writing skills are essential in communication.

‘‘It should be a source of pride to children but it isn’t,” interjected Mrs. Massie.

THE Board voted unanimously to adopt all of the committee recommendations. At the May School Board meeting, Norton said the Board will consider and adopt high school science texts.
