However, at the high school level, Norton reported that it was not unusual for a textbook to cost between $12 and $14. “With rentals at $1.50 to $2, the book’s gone before it’s paid for,’’ he said. “We may have to go to a fully paid system for new textbooks adopted at the high school.’’
