Mrs. H. Lawrence Manwaring will present a PAGEANT OF INDIA, on Thursday, January 18, at the Rappahannock Cqruaty Public ^ Library * in Waihington beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Manwaring accompanied her husband on two trips to India, in 1970 and again in 1971, where he was sent by the United States Government as Special Consultant to the Food Corporation of India, headquartered in New Delhi. She was fascinated by this colorful, diverse and complex land. With plenty of time at her disposal she decided to learn as much as she could about the country and its people. She attended classes at Delhi University, studying Indian history and culture. The Manwarings traveled in many parts of India and Nepal, bringing back beautiful and revealing colored slides of village life, art treasures, tombs and palaces.
