The state travel magazine, “Virginia, Scenic History land,” has released its publication for 1978-79 and the booklet makes no mention of Rappahannock County.
The county is missing an excellent opportunity to attract tourists by not sending in an article for the magazine. It's published by the Virginia Travel Council “for the purpose of influencing travelers to visit the Old Dominion, in the belief that each will return home with a greater understanding of America’s natural heritage.”
Equally as important, those same travelers who return home with an appreciation of the state’s heritage will also return home minus millions of dollars that they’ve left behind during their visit.
If the county is to develop its potential as an outdoor recreation center and tourist attraction, then it needs publicity. Rappahannock need not wait
