varia mcoie juuy, aaugnter ot Mr. and Mrs. Earl Judy Jr. of Castleton, was married to Thomas Vernon Martin Jr., son of Mrs. Thomas V. Martin Sr. of Exton, Pa., and the late Mr. Martin. The Reverend Prentice Kinser III performed the double ring ceremony, Saturday, Sept. 10 at St. James Episcopal Church in Warrenton.
A prelude of classical pieces was performed by organist Mary Lu Hartsell of Warrenton. Mrs. Hartsell also accompanied flautist Maura Singleton, who played a sonata by Handel for the seating of the mothers. Mr. Jay D. Mumper of Harrisburg, Pa., then sang “The Wedding Song.”
The bride entered the church to “Trumpet Voluntary” performed by trumpeter Frank Owens. During the service, soloist Dwayne West of Charleston sang “Ave Maria” and Handel’s “Wedding Prayer." The recessional, “Fanfare de Symphonies” was also played by Mr. Owens.
The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a formal white gown of raw silk designed for her by Masandrea of New York. The gown was adorned with hand-embroidered Alencon lace and seed pearls. The fitted bodice featured full puff sleeves and flowed into a very full skirt with a cathedral-length train. The bride wore silk and lace gauntlets and a headpiece designed to complement the gown. The headpiece held cathedral and fingertip veils of illusion trimmed with seed pearls. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and lilies.
Pamela Devon Judy, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a tea-length gown of dusty rose satin in a style similar to the bride’s gown. The dress featured a low back, large puff sleeves and a full skirt. She also wore a white satin hat
