Iva Lam of Amissville in Rappahannock bounty said she was contacted by the telemarketing firm on Monday. “I told them I was in favor of Disney. I have grandkids,” she said.
Jane Adams, | manager of media relations for Disney’s America, said the telemarketing company is contacting people who have called Disney to express their support for the project. “Since we made the announcement, we’ve had lots and lots of calls from supporters asking what they can do to help. . . . This group is calling those supporters and suggesting that if they feel strongly, they should contact their state legislators.”
Mrs. Adams said the telemarketers can connect the resident directly with their legislator’s office in Richmond, or provide a telephone number so they can make the call later.
“These are not cold calls,” she said, referring to the common telemarketing practice of making unsolicited telephone calls.
