King Program Planned
The Gospel Chorus of Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill will be sponsoring their annual Martin Luther King Program at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22.
The speaker for this occasion is Bernard Carey. Mr. Carey is presently employed by Anchor Mental Health as Program Coordinator, serving adults with mental illness. He is a graduate of Union College with a B.A. in Political Science. Vocational Rehabilitation, is his major in Graduate School at George Washington University.
He is a professional actor with film, television and stage credits. He was a soldier in the movie, Tank, played “Riker” in a T.V. documentary, “Othello” in Othello, “Caliban” in the Tempest, “Clay” in the Dutchman, “Sky Masterman” in Guys and Dolls, “Jim” in the musical Big River, “Prince” in Romeo and Juliet and “Martin Luther King, Jr.” in “I Have A Dream.” Mr. Carey is a motivational speaker, who spoke to over 30,000 persons last year.
“But most importantly he is a man that believes that the power to bring about positive change is within us all, hope to see you at this program,” said a spokesperson.
