In response to a newspaper report that 3,000 employees»had quit because of low pay and poor working conditions, the Euro Disney president conceded that employees do work under “tough conditions.” Now ■ that Euro Disney has lost over $900 million Disney “is back-pedaling furiously, slashing prices at its’ hotels and restaurants, and serving oncebanned alcohol at the theme park...” (New York Times, Dec. 12, 1993.) Orlando has gone from 6,000 hotel rooms to 80,000; where there were once 56,320 citrus acres in central Florida, there are now only 9,470 acres.

Now it’s Virginia’s turn. Disney’s latest report on their ever-expanding numbers estimates that they will bring an additional 25,000 vehicles to our already jammed roads. The Disney Development Co., with a net worth of over $22 billion, has requested a minimum of $60 million in state funds or bonds to build roads, ap interchange on its own property, an interchange on Rt. 66 which would be built to serve only Disney, as well as improvements on roads that lead to their phoperty. A private milti-billion dollar corporation should not be putting taxpayer money at risk for their own profit and dictating government financing of road improvements on their own land, but should be paying Virgin
