In other school news, Chappell said that the funding formula for the composite index (used by the state to calculate financial aid for counties) "doesn't work" for Rappahannock County and that he is working with State Delegate Allen Louderback on this issue.
The board announced that it will hold a work session Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at the county courthouse on the proposed lighting ordinance. The session is open to public observation. Board Chairman Charles "Pete" Estes said that the board has received several petitions to hold a referendum on this ordinance, but the law requires that the supervisors vote on an ordinance.
