archrival, Madison County. These are the five schools our team faces in track competition.
I must admit I was very impressed with each of the schools I visited. All of them boasted well-maintained six lane tracks, expansive seating, chain link fencing, concession stands, restrooms, and press boxes.
Not surprisingly the “cat’s meow" was Madison County. They recently replaced their old track with a brand new rubber surface track that looked so good I was afraid to walk on it.
The good news about visiting Madison County was that my visit ultimately led to a discussion with its Athletic Director and I learned that Madison’s track project cost less than half of our initial presentation.
Returning to Rappahannock County and taking a walk around our “track” was to say the least, disheartening if not
