“Bruce Almighty,” starring Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston, is premised on the following question: If God gave you his powers for one week, what would you do? Feed the Poor? Prevent natural disasters? Usher in world peace?
This engaging comedy, sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, comes to The Theatre in Little Washington on Gay Street Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. It willH be showing in DVD.
This film was originally scheduled to be shown Sept. 19, but Hurricane Isabel descended upon the community and The Theatre was without power.
In “Bruce Almighty,” Carrey, as Bruce Nolan, plays a man for whom the most important thing on earth is to become an anchor on a Buffalo TV station. When he fails to achieve this pinnacle, he vents his anger at the very heavens themselves, challenging God to show and explain himself.
