Public Hearing with Respect Thereto

Notice is hereby given in accordance with §15.2-1427 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 (as amended) that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County shall hold a public hearing at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2004, at the Courthouse in Washington, VA to consider for passage an Ordinance amending Chapter 162 “Traffic and Parking” of the Rappahannock County Code. The effect of the amendments are to regulate parking on highways in Rappahannock County, to allow the issuance of parking tickets with a uniform schedule of fines, to provide for the immobilization of vehicles with three or more unpaid tickets, and to expand the ability of the Sheriff to charge violations of State law under the County Code whereby the County receives the fines.

All interested persons are invited to attend and to make comment.

A copy of the Ordinance is available for public inspection both at the County Administration Office and at the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, in Washington, VA from 8:304:30 Monday through Friday.
