Terri Lehman of Rappahannock County has always liked dogs. When she was only “eight or nine” she acquired a dog. For a very brief time, anyway. Lehman, the proprietor of ECOW, puts it this way: “I stole a dog.” It was a friendly animal that she promptly named Sandy, and it was hanging around the shopping center. “I took it home and said ‘it followed me home, can I keep it? I had to take it back.” What sort of dog was it? “A little mutty thing,” she replied.
Ms. Lehman is still trying to do nice things for little mutty things and all sorts of dogs. Again this Spring ECOW is doing the dinner for the Hoedown and Silent Auction put on by RAWL, the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League. Indeed, the Rappahannock News is proud to announce the menu for the dinner (and square dance) at the Schoolhouse in Sperryville at 6:30 p.m. in the evening on Saturday, April 12.
