To save money and repair the bridge sooner, the Virginia Department of Transportation has asked for Rappahannock County’s blessing nn closing-down Route 729, Richmond Road, for the three to four months it will take to rebuild the bridge over Battle Rim. in 2012 or 20Id.
The Board of Supervisors elected Monday not to agree to VDOT's request until it first checks with county residents.
