A sweep of a circular gravel drive, a brick walkway, and formal urns filled with greenery lead one’s eyes to the imposing Federal style “Locust Grove," home of Lee and Laura Morris and Tom and Robbie Morris.
Locust Grove is one of three houses on the 53rd annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale in Rappahannock County on Oct. 17 and 18.
The main wing of the traditional brick home dates from 1856 and was built by Thomas Settle. The original stone and log structure was built by his grandfather, Thomas Jordan, in the mid- 18th century and is now used as the wine cellar.
