The kitchen is large and spacious with a tall settle by the fireplace and several old hutches filled with Spode china. The stove is set into the wall, with a brick and soapstone surround and is decorated with old blue and white china platters. Jan Forte, of Orlean, provided the gray/blue kitchen cabinets which complement the muted red trim and the stone fireplace
Up the old stairway with its original curved handrails and graceful landing is another generous hall and four bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has its own new bathroom, all of which are in the new w'irigs of the house.
A girl’s room, daughter Stella’s, is decorated with matching Stickley beds with blue toile canopies and old cribs now used for doll’s and toys. Son Thomas' room is furnished with hand-painted furniture from his father’s young days in London which showcases 19th century scenes of the English Royal Navy. A master suite and guest bedroom, with extraordinary views of the back gardens and lawns, complete the main second floor.
A playroom above the kitchen, a master bedroom suite on the ground floor, a sun nxim and an ample back porch are just a few of the newer parts of the home, while the cellar level includes the 18th century portion of the original stone and log home with a large fieldstone cooking fireplace which is now the wine cellar, a mud room and a room dedicated to the hunters in the family.
Outbuildings include a new carriage house garage, tennis court, swimming pool.
